Ayush Badoni IPL 50 on Debut for Lucknow Super Giants

Ayush Badoni, who hails from Delhi had represented India at the U-19 level showed a lot of maturity but holding the wicket from one end, not giving the wicket and handling the pressure really well. After all, it was only Krunal Pandya who was the last batsman in the line-up.

It was the 14th over, bowled by Hardik Pandya and Ayush Badoni was on strike. He hit the first ball with an immense six. It was the slower ball and he picked it right out of the hand. The second wall was a 4,  he walked across his stumps, uses the pace of Hardik and laps it to fine leg, one bounce and over the ropes. The next ball again was for a 4 towards the third man, very smart stroke. Even Sunil Gavaskar who was doing the English commentary, was very much impressed with young Ayush Badoni.

Ayush hit a magnificent 50 on his IPL debut for Lucknow Super Giants from just 38 balls. He has hit 3 sixes and 4 fours in that 50. Hitting Hardik Pandya and Lockie Ferguson out of the park a couple of times.

In the 2nd game against Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants were chasing a total of 211 when Lucknow had to chase down 34 in the last 2 overs, Ayush first hit a huge six in the first ball of the 19th over of Shivam Dube and in the last over hit a beautiful six to Mukesh Choudhary. He was calm in that innings too, surely MSD would have enjoyed his batting behind the stumps even though he was in the opposite team.

In the 3rd game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Badoni came and hit a quick fiery 19 of just 12 balls with 3 boundaries in his name leading the target to 170 for Hyderabad. Lucknow won that game too. In the 4th game when it was against Delhi Capitals, Badoni came and hit a 4 and a 6 to register Lucknow’s 3rd win a row. Proving that age is just a number for the young chap. At 22, he is going something magical for his IPL Team.

Ayush Badoni who hails from Uttarakhand, recently had represented Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in the 2020-21 season. He definitely has proved his strength and has impressed one and all with how sensible he is with the bat.
